Job Description

• Installation, configuration and upgrading of middleware software and related products;
• Manage patches and software upgrades ;
• User Account management;
• Monitor and maintain the health of the server environments;
• Perform tuning and performance monitoring;
• Perform application deployments;
• Support application development teams with tuning, troubleshooting and optimization;
• Prepare and maintain d documentation and standards and present technical briefings to the customer;
• Plan growth and changes (capacity planning);

Required Skills & Experience

• In-depth experience with Linux and/or Unix operating systems; i.e. should be fully self-sufficient and be able to perform troubleshooting tasks on the operating system;
• Experience with a J2EE platform; i.e. Websphere, JBOSS, or Weblogic;
• Experience with Apache, Nginx, IBM HttpServer, or Microsoft IS webservers;
• Understanding of the JVM and how it operates, i.e., Garbage Collection, Tuning, etc.;
• Knowledge of how load-balancers, such as Netscalers or F5 appliances work;
• Certificate Management and PKI administration (preference given to experience with Certificate management tooling);
• Ability to create descriptive and effective technical documentation;
• Understanding of configuration management concepts and tools and how to use them;
• SAN Storages configuration, FC Networking;
• Experienced deploying and troubleshooting Windows Server, complex computing platforms, and/or cutting-edge technologies involving virtualization, distribution, and high availability;
• Installation, Configuration and administration of one or more of the following such as JBOSS, Apache Tomcat, Microsoft IIS on windows and linux environments;

Soft Skills

• Disaster recovery and planning;
• Support for application development teams;
• Support for Certification and Accreditation process;
• Writing SOPs , Operations manuals;
• Capacity Planning;
• Good understanding of web server load balancing concepts and experience with highly available distributed environments;
• Experience operating in traditional and agile project models;
• Strong Interpersonal skills to resolve problems in a professional manner, lead working groups, negotiate, and create consensus;
• Effective communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) with various level of stakeholders, from developer to senior management;
• Desire to quickly pick up and learn a large collection of technologies;
