Omar Abedin is Appointed Project Director of NIC Karachi

LMKT is delighted to welcome Omar Abedin as Project Director for National Incubation Center (NIC), Karachi.

Launched in 2018, NIC Karachi is an Ignite – MoITT funded incubator that LMKT operates in collaboration with NED University, HBL, PTCL, PPAF.

Omar, who was most recently the Chief Marketing Officer at Graana Group of Companies, is a multi-faceted brand builder with a strong profile that spans geographies and diverse industries. He brings with him extensive insight and knowledge of strategy, innovation, team building, and change management.

A startup founder himself, Omar is passionate about building up the indigenous startup ecosystem and presently serves as a Director for Founder Institute Karachi and a startup mentor for National Incubation Centers across the Country. Through his role as the Project Director of NIC Karachi, Omar aims to create new avenues for investors to engage with the local startup community.

NIC Karachi offers Sindh-based entrepreneurs and promising startups a variety of programs, as well as access to mentor and investor networks, and technical resources. In August 2020, NIC Karachi graduated 19 startups from its 2nd and 3rd cohorts.
