Lucky One, South Asia’s largest mall that is based out of Karachi, has selected LMKT to design and implement Huawei’s GPON (Gigabyte-capable Passive Optical Networks) solution throughout its facility. GPON is an access method that provides fiber connectivity using point to-multipoint technology that aids in implementation. The solution will provide high-quality narrowband voice services and broadband access services, as well as flawless experiences for IP voice and multimedia services.
Bandwidth demand and consumption has increased exponentially over recent years. Just as it would in any large scale building complex, a huge length of multiple cable types is required to provide high quality, uninterrupted data, and telephony, video and connectivity services at Lucky One. Over the recent years, internet access speed has increased greatly to keep up with the demand of new services and bandwidth-hungry applications, such as video streaming. New technologies have been adopted that can support the current need for bandwidth, but they have not always taken into account the long-term growth expected for access networks.
LMKT aims to provide a network for the delivery and termination of various services on an ideal medium, high-speed and high-bandwidth with multi-service transmission. LMKT aspires to breathe new flexibility and speed into LuckyOne mall data center network design. Considering how the increasing numbers of network-connected devices in the enterprise affect data center network architectures LMKT will ensure networking systems are more agile, giving businesses the ability to handle new opportunities and challenges.
The passive optical network solution provided by LMKT can enable triple play services. As GPON offers higher data rate and greater functionality, it is expected to be the next big thing for carriers planning a triple-play rollout.
