Position Overview:
The Accounts & Finance Executive plays a critical role in maintaining the financial health and operational efficiency of the organization. This role is responsible for financial reporting, transaction management, budgeting and compliance while ensuring accurate record-keeping, timely invoicing, and adherence to internal controls and policies. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical capabilities, attention to detail, a strong desire for continuous learning and professional development and the ability to meet strict deadlines while maintaining sound financial controls.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Assist in preparing financial statements and project reports in accordance with applicable financial reporting standards.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, provincial, and local tax regulations, including timely filing of returns.
Transaction Management:
- Accurately and promptly record all financial transactions to maintain up-to-date and reliable accounting records.
- Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and ensure proper reconciliation of bank accounts.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Monitor budget variances and prepare variance analysis reports.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Process receivables and payables, ensuring timely invoicing and collections.
- Establish strong credit controls and vendor payment terms.
Fixed Assets & Inventory Management:
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date fixed asset register, ensuring proper accounting and depreciation.
- Oversee physical verification of assets and assist in resolving discrepancies.
Audit & Internal Controls:
- Collaborate with external and internal auditors and assist in timely and successful completion of audits.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and maintain financial integrity.
Policy Adherence:
- Ensure financial operations align with the organization’s policy manuals and standard operating procedures.
Other Duties:
- Undertake any other relevant duties as assigned by senior management.
- Provide training and guidance to junior finance team members.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
- Candidates pursuing professional certifications such as ACCA, CA, CPA, or CMA are also encouraged to apply.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards.
- Proficiency in financial management systems and ERP software.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under strict deadlines.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with various stakeholders.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in financial reporting, accounting, or audit roles.
