Job Summary
As a Digital Enablement Specialist, you will be transforming data into actionable insights, improving program effectiveness, and demonstrating the center’s impact. Your data-driven approach and analytical skills will contribute significantly to achieving the center’s strategic goals and fostering a data-driven culture within the organization.
- Data Collection and Management:
- Ensure data quality through data cleaning, validation, and standardization procedures.
- Develop and maintain a central data repository accessible to authorized users within the center.
- Supports Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) functions through data systems and evidence management.
- Ensure indicator traceability between different project planning documents and reports.
- Design and implement efficient data collection systems, leveraging online tools, website analytics, third-party integrations, and internal surveys.
- Data Analysis and Visualization:
- Apply data analysis techniques and tools to extract meaningful insights from various data sources related to program effectiveness, startup progress, and ecosystem impact.
- Develop interactive dashboards and visualizations that communicate key findings effectively to diverse audiences (staff, startups, investors, stakeholders).
- Use data storytelling techniques to translate verified insights into clear narratives that support reporting, learning, and decision-making.
- Performance Measurement and Reporting:
- Support the definition, operationalization, and tracking of approved KPIs and OKRs aligned with program goals and reporting requirements.
- Generate regular reports analyzing program performance, startup progress, and overall impact of the center on the tech ecosystem.
- Present data-driven insights and recommendations to senior management to inform strategic decision-making and program improvement.
- Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing:
- Collaborate with program teams to define data needs, interpret findings, and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
- Develop and implement a knowledge management system to share data insights, best practices, and learnings across the center.
- Organize internal workshops and training sessions to build data literacy and empower staff to leverage data effectively.
- Staying Ahead of the Curve:
- Stay updated on emerging data analysis tools, best practices, and trends in the tech startup ecosystem.
- Explore and evaluate new data sources and integration opportunities to enhance the center’s data-driven capabilities.
- Participate in industry conferences and communities to network with other data professionals and share knowledge.
- Management-directed responsibilities:
- Perform any additional duties assigned by senior management to support organizational priorities and evolving business needs. Ensure timely execution with professionalism and accountability.
- Cross-departmental support / shadowing:
- Collaborate with and shadow own and other departments as required to ensure operational continuity and knowledge sharing.
- Provide support on interdepartmental tasks when needed by the management.
Required Qualification and Skills
- Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining data systems for program monitoring, reporting, or performance management.
- Practical exposure to Management Information Systems (MIS) development, including data models, indicators, workflows, and access controls.
- Experience supporting Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) or performance measurement functions through structured data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Experience in developing and implementing knowledge management systems.
- Expertise in visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
- Experience with online data integration tools and APIs.
- Ability to develop interactive dashboards and visualizations.
- Strong understanding of key performance indicators (KPIs) and performance measurement.
- Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to define data needs and interpret findings.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in data analysis and data management using tools such as MS Excel (advanced), Google Sheets, Airtable, or equivalent structured data platforms.
- Hands-on experience in dashboard and MIS development, including KPI tracking, cohort monitoring, and longitudinal performance analysis.
- Working knowledge of data science or analytical methods (e.g., descriptive analytics, trend analysis, basic statistical techniques) applied in operational or program contexts.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent platforms for communicating insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with automation and integration tools (e.g., Zapier, Make.com, APIs) for streamlining data collection, validation, and reporting workflows.
- Understanding of data quality, validation, and documentation practices, including indicator definitions, data dictionaries, and version control.
- Exposure to evaluation, impact measurement, or results-based frameworks (e.g., KPIs, logical frameworks, theory of change, or similar) is strongly preferred.
- Skilled in utilizing no-code development tools.
