Job Purpose

The Accounts & Finance Executive owns the end-to-end Accounts Payable function for LMKT. Alongside this core responsibility, the role carries active General Ledger duties and is accountable for accurate and timely month-end financial reporting, prepared in the required formats and timelines. The position suits a detail-oriented finance professional who can manage a high-volume payables cycle, support a disciplined monthly close, and coordinate effectively with vendors and internal teams. The scope is expected to broaden over time as the role takes on wider ownership across the assigned entities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounts Payable (primary responsibility)

  • Own the complete purchase-to-pay cycle for LMKT, from vendor onboarding through invoice processing to payment and reconciliation.
  • Receive, review, and verify vendor invoices for accuracy, valid approvals, and complete supporting documentation, and match against purchase orders and goods or services receipts where applicable.
  • Record invoices, debit notes, and credit notes accurately in the ERP with correct account, cost centre, and tax coding.
  • Verify and process LMKT vendor payments within agreed timelines.
  • Prepare periodic payment runs across bank transfers and cheques, confirm beneficiary details, and route payments for approval in line with the delegation of authority.
  • Apply withholding tax at source on vendor payments and ensure correct treatment of sales tax on purchases.
  • Maintain and reconcile vendor accounts and statements, resolve discrepancies, and manage advances, retentions, and their subsequent settlement.
  • Process employee expense claims, reimbursements, and petty cash replenishments in line with policy.
  • Prepare accounts payable aging and track outstanding liabilities, flagging items that need attention.
  • Respond to vendor and internal queries professionally and maintain organized payable records that remain audit ready.

2. General Ledger and Month-end Close

  • Support the monthly close for LMKT, ensuring transactions are captured completely and accurately.
  • Book accruals, prepayments, provisions, and other adjusting journal entries.

3. Financial Reporting

  • Prepare periodic financial reports for LMKT in the required formats and timelines.
  • Reconcile financial reports with the books of accounts and resolve discrepancies before submission.
  • Compile supporting schedules required for reporting, such as petty cash details, expense breakups, and other relevant disclosures.
  • Ensure reporting content, timelines, and formats remain accurate and aligned with applicable financial and organizational requirements.
  • Act as a finance point of contact for internal stakeholders on reporting queries and reconciliations.

4. Tax and Statutory Compliance

  • Prepare sales tax (GST) data for the tax department to support monthly filings and payments for the relevant centers.
  • Ensure timely and correct withholding tax deductions on payments and support preparation of the related statements.
  • Coordinate with the tax function to maintain compliance with applicable federal and provincial requirements.
  • Keep abreast of changes in tax rules that affect payables and reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (B.Com, M.Com, BBA, or MBA in Finance).
  • ACCA or CA will be preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in accounts payable and general accounting, preferably in a multi-entity or shared services environment.
  • Hands on experience with an ERP system.
  • Working knowledge of Pakistan tax requirements, including income tax withholding on payments and federal and provincial sales tax on goods and services.
  • Familiarity with IFRS based reporting.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong attention to detail and a consistently high level of accuracy.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets.
  • Ability to manage volume, prioritize, and reliably meet month-end deadlines.
  • Sound understanding of accounting principles and the full purchase to pay cycle.
  • Good communication and coordination skills for working with vendors, internal teams.
  • Integrity, discretion, and the ability to handle confidential financial information.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
  • Minimal audit observations relating to payables and reporting.
