LMKT and National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Friday, January 22, 2016 to provide Value Added Services (VAS) to NTC customers in the form of a mobile application named “GoSmart”.
The signing ceremony was attended by distinguished officials; Brig (R) Viqar Rashid Khan, Chairman NTC; Mr. Azmat Ali Ranjha, Additional Secretary (In charge) Ministry of IT Ministry of Information and Technology (MoIT); Mr. Haroon Sharif, Vice President of LMKT; and other notable seniors and technology experts.
While speaking at the occasion, Shabana Atif Khan, Chief Executive Officer, LMKT, said “LMKT is committed to providing latest technology and products to our clients, especially in the telecommunications industry. This MOU of launching the GoSmart application is a continuation of LMKT’s commitment to automate government by introducing latest technologies to improve efficiencies.” She also added, “We are delighted to see the progress NTC has made in the past two years and their resolve to develop partnerships with the private sector to introduce innovative and effective services for the government. This is definitely a positive step in the right direction. We keenly look forward to this venture with NTC and hope to deliver the best of services.”
The mobile application will provide mobility to existing NTC customers and will enable them to use their fixed line services using the mobile application anywhere via Internet. Some of the additional features of the GoSmart mobile application include audio conferencing, video calls, text messaging, and file sharing (images and videos included).
