LMKT’s MeriZameen portal and mobile app were presented at the Pakistan Horti Expo 2019 as part of the digital farming initiative of Department of Agriculture, Government of Punjab.
The two-day event, which ended January 22, was organized by the DOA to promote linkages between growers, processors, exporters and international stakeholders for development and export of horticulture products. A hundred leading companies participated in the expo that featured experts from over 13 countries and had 80 different stalls.
Through its project “Extension Services 2.0 – Farmers Facilitation through Modernized Extension,” the DOA aims to build and support productive and efficient farms. The project leverages modern ICT platforms to develop and communicate accurate and relevant agronomic advisories to farmers.
Honorable Minister of Agriculture, Punjab, Malik Noman Ahmed Langrial appreciated LMKT’s efforts in promoting the use of ICT in the agriculture sector.
The project, which will benefit 5.2 million farmer families in 24,000 villages of Punjab is also in line with LMKT’s mission to empower farmers and promote inclusive economic growth in Pakistan.
