LuckyOne Mall is Pakistan’s largest shopping mall offering a premium high street retail experience to the citizens of Karachi. Home to over 200 stores, spanning 3.4 million square feet and with over 10,000 daily visitors, monitoring and controlling visitor and employee access became a significant challenge for the mall’s management. LuckyOne was on the lookout for an integrated security solution that would meet its requirements of providing real-time surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, incident reporting and emergency response.

LMKT worked closely with LuckyOne’s team to deploy an effective solution that meets the expansive mall’s security and personnel management requirements.  The highly ranked V-Secur® solution was deployed with its Map View, Access Control and Time and Attendance modules offering all-round security and surveillance.

Map View is a groundbreaking monitoring technology allowing LuckyOne’s security staff to visually track the movement of different personnel in real-time. An interactive map provides a birds-eye view of the mall displaying heat maps of the overall traffic. V-Secur® integrates the latest ICT infrastructure such as CCTV cameras, RFID-enabled company cards and biometric technologies to manage access to restricted areas throughout LuckyOne’s facilities.

The system automatically alerts authorities if it detects unusual activity or suspicious behavior in any part of the mall. The system displays real-time video pop-ups and alarms to report unusual activities eliminating the need for human intervention. In such an event, V-Secur will automatically execute emergency protocols set in place by LuckyOne’s security management, such as fire alarms, perimeter security, passive security and intrusion detection.

The successful deployment of the V-Secur solution has enabled LuckyOne to fortify its security across the board.

Real-time monitoring of over 600 cameras in the Mall

The mall is monitored 24/7 in real-time with a centralized command and control system. MapView is simultaneously monitoring more than 600 cameras by intelligently switching between different feeds and displaying the most relevant ones based on various pre-defined event triggers. Security staff is able to centrally invoke and schedule customized protocols for different scenarios for effective and targeted rescue operations during high-security incidents.

Mitigate risk of fire incidents in the mall

LuckyOne mall is divided into eight distinct zones and its evacuation. MapView has the provision for defining and executing emergency response plans within the systems. In case of fire detection in a specific zone, the system’s event-driven automation feature intelligently responds and executes the required emergency protocols. All the secure doors are released for facilitate evacuation and affected routes are locked to avoid confusion and disorder. Live updates enable operational continuity and effective decision-making during crisis situations.

Intrusion detection

Any suspicious activity recorded in restricted areas such as the data center is   intelligently responded to with real time alerts, alarms and video camera activation. This minimizes the need for manual intervention.  Authorized staff also has access to event data and information for investigations and analysis. Resultantly, errors are minimized guaranteeing impenetrable security throughout the mall.
